Referral & Funding Options

Fees & Rebates for Psychology in Bella Vista

We believe in transparent pricing. There are several ways to fund your sessions.

Medicare

Medicare / Mental Health Treatment Plan

Ask your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This provides rebates for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

What you need: A valid MHTP referral from your GP or psychiatrist.
How it works: Pay the full fee before your session. The Medicare rebate is processed after and returned to your card.
Out-of-pocket: The gap between the session fee and the Medicare rebate. Contact us for an estimate.
NDIS

NDIS Funded Sessions

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants for psychology services.

Plan types: Self-managed and plan-managed. We are not a registered NDIS provider and are unable to accept NDIA (agency) managed participants.
How it works: Sessions invoiced to your plan manager or directly to you (self-managed). Self-managed participants claim reimbursement from their plan.
Pricing: Per current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Private & Other

Private, WorkCover & Third-Party

Private clients welcome without a referral. We also accept WorkCover and other funded referrals.

Payment: Full fee prior to session. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and direct deposit.
Private health: You may be eligible for a rebate from your insurer. Check directly with your fund.
Third-party: Arrangements confirmed prior to first appointment per your funding body's terms.
Your First Visit

What to expect at your first session

Seeing a psychologist for the first time can feel daunting. Here is how it works.

1

Get in touch

Submit an enquiry or call us. We will ask a few questions to understand your needs and guide you from there.

2

Prepare your referral

Medicare clients: visit your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. NDIS participants: have your plan details ready. Private clients: no referral needed.

3

First session

An assessment and getting-to-know-you session. We discuss your background, current concerns, and goals, then plan a treatment approach together.

4

Ongoing support

Sessions are typically weekly or fortnightly. Your psychologist will review progress regularly and adjust the approach as needed.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist privately. However, to access Medicare rebates under the Better Access initiative, you will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. NDIS participants need an active plan with relevant funding.

How many Medicare-rebated sessions can I access per year?

Under the Better Access initiative, eligible individuals can access up to 10 individual therapy sessions and 10 group therapy sessions per calendar year with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP.

What NDIS plan management types do you accept?

We accept self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. As we are not a registered NDIS provider, we are unable to accept NDIA (agency) managed participants. Services include counselling and capacity building.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session is an assessment and getting-to-know-you session. Your psychologist will ask about your background, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve. Together, you will set goals and discuss a treatment approach that suits your needs.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. We offer secure telehealth video sessions for clients across Australia. You need a stable internet connection, a private space, and a device with a camera and microphone. Telehealth attracts the same fees and Medicare rebates as in-person sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 2 clear business days' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations incur 50% of the session fee for Medicare and private clients, or 100% for NDIS participants (claimed from your plan). Full details are in our booking terms and conditions.
